Several rules apply to staff files and social documents. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires you not to keep personal data for longer than is strictly necessary. According to the Data Protection Authority, a maximum period of five years after an employee leaves is sufficient to ensure smooth administration. The file can then be deleted.
