This aspect of the work of archives is a fact that characterizes their very existence, yet it is especially discussed when it comes to the archives of the performing arts. As the event-based liveness often is proclaimed as a key identifying element of performing and performative art processes, this creates a conundrum in how performing arts can be a part of and exist in archives at all.
